Clove Oil
Clove oil has been widely and long used for treating toothache. It is special due to a chemical it contains called eugenol. This chemical has antibacterial and anesthetic properties.
If you want to relieve your toothache, first make a mixture from 2-3 drops of clove oil and one fourth teaspoon of olive oil. Then, take a cotton ball and soak it in the mixture. In the end, put the cotton ball into your mouth around the tooth that aches and bite it down so that it stays in place. Remember that you should not sleep with the cotton in your mouth.
The clove oil is found in almost all pharmacies and stores for healthy food.
Cough Drops
Cough drops or lozenges usually contain a little anesthetic. In other words, they can help you eliminate minor tooth pain as well. Suck one or two cough drops, without chewing.
You can also apply Vick’s VapoRub on the outer part of the cheek, at the exact place where your aching tooth is, and then put a paper towel on your pillow and lie down on that side.
Rinse It Off
Often times, the teeth ache due to some food trapped between them. That is why you should try rinsing with mouthwash, flossing, or using interdental brushes.
Tea Bags
You can get rid of toothache by applying a hot tea directly to the tooth. Tea bags contain tannic acid, which is known to help when it comes to reducing of the swelling.
Cucumber
Slice a cucumber and put a slice on the aching tooth or soak a cotton ball in brandy and apply it onto the tooth. Alcohol is highly beneficial when it comes to numbing the area that aches. Moreover, according to many people, garlic, onions, wheat grass, salt water rinse, and spinach also can alleviate tooth pain.
Natural Remedies that Can Help You Get Rid of a Toothache:
- oregano oil, whether it is used topically or internally
- colloidal silver, whether it is used locally, internally, or for rinsing

- warm salt water, used for rinsing
How to use them?
Place a few drops of the oil under your tongue and leave it there for several minutes. Next, rinse the oil using the colloidal silver. Ginger Root
Take a piece of ginger root, remove the bark and then cut it in tiny pieces. Put the pieces on the top of the aching tooth and bite it so that it stays in place. The pain will start decreasing slowly. Store the rest of the pieces in the refrigerator and repeat the procedure.
Black Cumin Oil
Make a mixture from half a teaspoon of vinegar and one teaspoon of black cumin oil. Put the mixture on heat, and after it is heated, leave it aside in order to cool off, and then use it for rinsing. This will help you prevent inflammations and infections in your mouth.
Essential Clove Oil
Eugenol is the active aromatic chemical from the clove. It has the ability to remove bacteria and alleviate pain. Take a cotton ball, soak it in the oil and apply it onto the inflamed tooth. Repeat this method when you feel the need to.
Compresses
If you want to get rid of intolerable pain, you can use cold compresses or other cold items. Put the cold compress on the outer area of your face on the place where the aching tooth is, and the pain is going to be reduced.
