5 Reasons Why You Should Be Eating Avocados Every Day

We are all familiar with the proverb “an apple a day keeps the doctors away”, but now we have modified it into “an avocado a day keeps the doctors away, forever”. If you wonder why it is so, here are 5 answers to your question.

1. Avocados Won’t Make You Fat

Foods that make you fat are white bread, fast food, chips, soda. Unlike them, avocados won’t. They do contain monounsaturated fat and high prevalence of oleic acid, but this fat is good and beneficial for your health as well as for your beauty. The oleic acid is actually known to keep us slim with the years. An example for that is the Mediterranean diet. The oleic acid also lowers the risk of developing heart diseases.

This Is Why You Should Eat Avocados Daily (If You Aren’t Already!)

2. Curbs Hunger

if you enjoy snacking and cannot help yourself when it comes to it, avocado is here to help. According to studies, meals that include avocado in them, as well as other good fats, make you feel full sooner and take away your need to eat more. They are mostly constituted from healthy fatty acids and their effects are good for the blood sugar and ketogenic effect. That is why you should snack avocado instead of some chips or the like.

3. Packed With Nutrients

Everybody knows that avocados are very tasty and useful, but what is in them is what makes them really beneficial. Firstly, they are abundant in nutrients, and have more than 14 minerals in their constitution. Not only minerals, but avocados also contain:

  • soluble fiber
  • 18 essential amino acids (which are proteins) and every 100 grams of avocado contain 2 grams of protein
  • phytosterols: campesterol, beta-sitosterol and stigmasterol and these are good for fighting arthritis and other inflammations.
  • polyhydroxylated fatty alcohols (PFAs): these are usually found in ocean plants, but it is present also in land plants, one of them being the avocado tree and its fruits, which makes it extraordinary. Same as the phytosterols, the PFAs have also anti-inflammatory effects and protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation
  • carotenoids: avocados are abundant in antioxidants and oil-soluble carotenoids, such as yellow alpha carotene and yellow lutein, o-carotene, as well as some less known carotenoids such as yellow neochrome, yellow epsilon-carotene, yellow chrysanthemaxanthin, yellow neoxanthin, orange zeaxanthin, orange beta cryptoxanthin and yellow violaxanthin.
  • chlorophyll: avocados are rich in chlorophyll and that is why they have magnificent green color. The chlorophyll is well-known detoxifier, deodorizer and toxin neutralizer
  • vitamins: C, E, B (folic acid)

4. Can Be Added To Many Meals

Another avocado’s advantage is its wide use as a meal additive and its ability to turn ordinary meals into delicious dishes. Take some avocados, mash them up and get guacamole. You can also add slices of avocado to hempseed or chia seed bread, gluten free or raw crackers, and there, your snack has become so healthy and tasty. Basically, you can add avocado to almost any food.

Avocado is excellent in combination with sea salt or any type of seaweed. It is rich in potassium, but this is balanced by the presence of sodium into the sea salt or the seaweed. Avocados work marvelously in salads. From recent times, they have been used into smoothies as well. We know it is impossible to get guacamole without its major ingredient.

Do you know what delicious tastes like?

5. Long-Term Health

Avocados are very nutritive and delicious, but they have many positive effects on your health in the long run. They regulate the levels of blood sugar, as well as the levels of good cholesterol, neutralize inflammations in the brain and in the body in general and provide your body energy in great quantities. You can even use it instead of meat and cheese.

An important question is whether you can eat avocado pit. You probably can, but it is not that good and delicious and not highly recommended.
